The biggest difference for MY 13 are the packages. BMWUSA redid the packages. The Executive Package now includes many options, which I believe is a must for any 550 owner. Also Dynamic Damper Control DDC is not longer part of M Sport Package but a standalone $1000 option. 4 Zone Climate Control is no longer available.

2012 BMW 535 or 2013, differences. My current lease is expiring at the end of September and I have been planning to pull a trigger on 2012 535 sports or possibly one with an Msport package. I have been reading a lot that multiple owners have reported that the car pulls to the right and also has a rattling steering wheel when going 70-75mph.

The only thing, the only thing, if there is anything, is that with the F11, the self-timer is under a menu, while before the Down arrow of the directional ring was the dedicated button for it on the F10. From what I gather, the NBT replaced the CIC as the iDrive in the LCI's. To be absolutely sure you get an LCI, get a 2014-2016 F10.
The 520D only comes in a 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. No other configuration. Paddle-shift option has no correlation to the number of gears; that is a build option. When I’m trying to insurance that car and typing in registration number it shows me “520d F10 SE Automatic 7 speed gearbox.
